Interview mit fnatic\gopher zu Quake 4 (von n1ghty):

iq-de: What do you think about the new quake-part? Do you like it? how would you compare it to the others?
fnatic\gopher: I really like it, its a nice mix between q2/q3 and d3, i dont think you should be complaining too much about specific things, because after all its supposed to be a new game, but if i could change a few things it would be a faster rl and less weaponswitch delay. Ii dont really think you can compare games, because theres things that are good and bad about them all, altho, i find it very funny how ppl hated d3 and now seem to love q4, seeing as its basically the same game, movementwise physics etc., its d3 with quakestylish weapons :)

iq-de: And its pretty ok for an "out-of-the-box". You signed up for the CPL-WT. Do you think the quake-players are in advantage to the others, cause of movement/game-feeling? Who will dominate in the next few weeks?
fnatic\gopher: Yea no doubt about that. I think with the rl being so slow, its not gonna be that much of an advantage tho, we'll see what happens :P

iq-de: Hehe ok, so no prediction to bet on ;p ok, what points would you fix in an upcomein game-patch?
fnatic\gopher: I think what fox has been posting on esr is quite accurate: the sounds need to be improved, like knowing how much health ppl have left by having them making diff sounds, armor pickup sounds, a few of those things.. Speed up the rl by 25-30% and tweak up the weaponswitch speeds a lil, the main weaponswitch that annoys me is when switching from lg that seems to take forever, even tho it shouldnt... Switching from lg in q3 is one of the fastest weapons to switch from, because it 'reloads' so fast.

iq-de: All ppl are waiting for an osp-like mod for q4, that hopefully wil be released very soon. What do you think will be get the "Gaming-Mod" for q4 (cpm or osp-like)?
fnatic\gopher: Hehe, the one that cpl picks for the WT. Ii think its a bit to early to say right now what needs to be done, ive barely played the game and the games ive played have been with 60+ ms, so its hard to really get a feel for the game. It seems nice on localhost tho, at least there rl seems decent.

iq-de: Do you think, that q4 will make it as long as q3? As most ppl say, its the best new game so far at all.
fnatic\gopher: Hehe, i think thats hard to speculate about, i think we'll just have to wait and let time tell :)
